Normally, in Romanian restaurants, these rustic bacon potatoes are served as a side dish. But I think they don’t need anything extra. I like to prepare and serve them as a main course, especially at dinner.

Cartofi la tigaie in stil taranesc.
Echipamente
- Tigaie neaderenta
Ingrediente
- 700 gr . cartofi ( rosii, pentru fiert )
- 150 gr . kaiser, gusa afumata, bacon afumat
- 1 bucata ceapa mare sau 2 mici
- 4 linguri ulei ( sau untura )
- 3 lingurite boia dulce
- 1 lingurita sare
- cateva frunze de patrunjel proaspat
Instrucțiuni
- Curata cartofii si taie-i in bucati mici spre mediu: 2.5 cm
- Pune-i la fiert intr-un litru de apa, cu o lingurita de sare. La foc mare pana dau in clocot. Dupa ce au dat in clocot, la foc minim, cu capac, timp de 20 de minute. Poti folosi o scobitoare, un bat de frigariu sau o furculita pentru a vedea daca sunt fierti.
- Rastoarna cartofii intr-o strecuratoare si lasa-i sa se scurga bine pana ii vei pune in tigaie.
- Incalzeste tigaia si adauga uleiul.
- Cut the bacon into strips and fry at medium heat for 3 – 5 minutes, stirring.
- Intre timp taie ceapa in felii subtiri ( julienne )
- When the bacon has started to brown, squeeze the onion a little in your hands and put it over the bacon in the pan. Stir, cover up, change the heat to minim.
- Let it to cook for approx. 5 – 7 minutes, until the onion is translucent and softer. You can stir from time to time.Atentie la tigaie in timpul asta, pentru ca ceapa se poate arde foarte repede.
- Spread a pinch of salt and all paprika, stir and let to cook for 2 minutes. Covered.
- Add boiled potatoes, gently stir and let to cook for another 2 minutes. Covered.
- Decoreaza cu patrunjel verde sau marar dupa gust si serveste-i calzi.
